Marina Planning and Development International (MPDI) Corporation was founded in 2006 by Andreas Prey and Alexander Proch with the objective of developing a marina for mega-yachts in Kiel. The founders are not only experienced in the fields of marina construction and yacht refitting but are also well acquainted with the world’s mega-yacht scene. Andreas Prey is the founder and owner of the Baltic Bay Marina Laboe and the adjoining shipyard. Alexander Proch has been building and captaining large private luxury yachts for many years around the globe and is well connected in the mega-yachting community.
Carlos Goetsch, architect, joined MPDI in May 2007. He brings with him his expertise in planning of international yacht harbours, marinas, hotels, clinics, spas and shopping malls.

The goal of MPDI and its investors is to attract the interest of mega-yacht owners into the Baltic Sea and to establish the necessary infrastructure for vessels of their size.
Presently the focus is set on the construction of a super-yacht marina in Kiel. In the long-term it is MPDI’s intention to develop the entire Baltic Sea region for the luxury-yachting scene. For these projects MPDI is still looking for further partners and investors.

For 26 years Andreas Prey has been continuing the more than hundred-year-old tradition of the Prey family in the area of shipbuilding, mechanical engineering and yacht harbour construction. As the managing partner of the yacht centre of Baltic Bay Laboe and with many years of experience in all relevant fields of the mega-yacht industry, he has proven himself to be a competent co-partner of the MPDI GmbH.

Alexander Proch, born December 1959

- 28 years of experience in international yachting as a captain cruising the North and South Atlantic, Caribbean Sea, South America, USA, Mediterranean Sea, North and Baltic Seas.
- Project manager for new constructions, for the refitting of mega-yachts and cruise ships in the USA, Mexico and Canada.
- As a result of his experience in planning a marina for super yachts at Costa Rica’s Pacific Coast, he is in an excellent position to profitably contribute his know-how concerning the mega-yacht industry to MPDI.


Graduate engineer Carlos Göttsch, born June 1965

Owner of the architect firm Göttsch in Heikendorf/ Kiel
In 1995 Carlos Göttsch took over the architect firm his father founded in 1974. Since 1999 he has been engaged in planning, engineering and the construction of marinas and shipyards. As an expert in these fields Carlos Göttsch complements the MPDI’s competence with his specialised knowledge.
